The weekends are never dull

We camped on Somes Island two weekends ago, which is about a twenty minute ferry ride from Wellington Harbor. The island was small enough to explore multiple times throughout the weekend but the views were so gorgeous I don’t think anyone could get sick of them.

Even though the rain didn’t stop till late evening we had a ton of fun exploring, playing cards, and learning about the island! I am so thankful that I made friends who make the best in less ideal situations.

Also the sheep and baby lambs were so adorable and great morning alarms.

Last weekend, the school took the international students on a deep sea fishing trip off in Wellington Harbor. This was my first time fishing and it was so much fun! It was really exciting catching my first fish and apparently it’s tradition to kiss your first catch!  With honesty, it was not very fun watching them get butchered, but they did taste really good…

Later that night, Adam, Julia, and I went to see Wellington Orchestra and choir. They performed a variety of music by Mozart. This was easily one of the most amazing performances I’ve ever seen. The music strikes you right in the heart and spreads throughout your veins. It was absolutely mesmerizing and I definitely can’t wait to see more back home!
