Day 9: Fox Glacier and Beer

We planned on spending this day exploring Fox Glaciers, but the weather decided otherwise. We managed to get a glimpse of the top but it was still a bit upsetting not being able to see more. We did do a small thirty minute hike through the rain in attempt to see the Glaciers.

Since we couldn’t really do all much, we decided to drive to Greymouth and tour Monteith’s Brewery. I’m not the biggest beer fan but it still was really fun learning about how beer is made. Once everyone warmed up, we drove to a campsite near Pancake Rocks to explore the following day. Jessi and I cooked an amazing dinner of potatoes, onions, and lamb. We shooed the boys away to a local bar so Jessi and I could have some quiet cooking time together. It’s definitely nice to have less people in Jucy when cooking. Today was a mild day, and even though we didn’t get to see the Glaciers we knew it wasn’t the end of the world and we would still see some amazing sights!

Check out day 10 to see the Pancake Rocks!

xoxo,

Madeleine
